If you are using AOL softwareto surf the World Wide Web you may notice that some graphics appear blurry. This may be because your AOL software is set to  use "compressed graphics".AOL states that this feature speeds up web page downloads, which it does, however they neglect to tell you that the images you see will be distorted, thus negatively impacting your web experience. Follow the steps below toturn off "compressed graphics".

1. Click on the "My AOL" icon atthe top of the window.

2. Click on "preferences" in thedrop down menu.

3. Click on the "WWW" icon.

4. Click on the "General" tab (itis usually open by default).

5. Under the "Temporary InternetFiles" heading click the "Delete Files" button. Then click "OK" on thepop-up window. This will delete any graphics files that have you have previouslydownloaded in compressed format. This is a necessary step because yourbrowser will attempt to use these files if they exist.

6. Click on the "Web Graphics" tabat the top of the window.

7. Un-check the "Use compressedgraphics" box.

8. Click "OK" on the bottom of thewindow to close it and apply the new setting.

9. Return to your browser and holddown the Ctrl key and click the reload button.

If you are still seeing blurry graphicsretry the steps above. Note that if you do not delete files that you havealready downloaded in compressed format, your browser will continue touse them even though you un-checked the compressed graphics box.
